We are pleased to announce that nido SHIN-OKACHIMACHI has won the Good Design Award 2025

The façade, composed of grey grid frames and wood-grain exterior walls, and the landscaping that brings greenery and places to linger to the streetscape were highly commended.
Its design, which creates continuity between exterior and interior spaces, and its diverse range of dwelling plans, have earned it high praise as a collective housing development fostering connections between people and their local community within the city.

This is an impressive collective housing development characterised by its façade of grey grid frames and wood-grain exterior walls.
By setting back from the road and creating a green open space, it provides a place for people within the neighbourhood.
The first-floor communal lounge, designed to flow seamlessly with the planting strip, features an interior unified by the façade’s key elements: grey, wood grain, and greenery. This creates an excellent design that conveys a sense of continuity between inside and outside.
The diverse dwelling plans, particularly those featuring spacious entrance mudrooms and circulation-friendly layouts centred around wet areas, are highly commendable as proposals for new ways of living.
In Okachimachi, where small wholesalers and town factories remain, it is hoped this apartment complex will foster better relationships between residents and the wider community.
